El Capitan Restaurant, Bar and RV has been in business since 1973. The current owner/operator has been here for approx. 20 years. Many people have come to El Golfo de Santa Clara for vacations, weekend getaways, camping, and enjoying the uncrowded and pristine sandy beaches. Everyone that comes to El Capitan knows Teresa, the owner. She has many friends and visitors come back to see her on their trips. This is a very popular and well loved location with alot of history. Jacques Cousteau's team and the "Calypso" came several years ago to study the Vaquita. Sean Penn directed his movie here ""Into the Wild", and there have been other celebrities that pop in now and then, Teresa has their photos on her wall of fame.
The Rocky Point group with their ATV's and dune buggies go on their "El Golfo Run", and the Mexicans and Americans from Yuma, San Luis and Mexicali come here for the races. You can find many videos on YouTube about this popular event "El Machorro" which is the old lighthouse, used in the races. Only 80 miles from Rocky Point, is a cute getaway for the weekender, and there are several hotels and restaurants. Even a Thrifty Ice Cream shop! The new coastal highway makes it very easy to get to, very nice new paved highway with many interesting surprising views along the way.
There have been historical digs by archeologists, and digs continue to find more treasures near the salt flats outside the town.
The owner is ready to retire and anyone that buys this landmark will get the whole loyal clientele, the parcel which includes all the covered RV parking areas, El Capitan Restaurant with fully equipped kitchen and trained staff, full bar and inventory and equipment plus liquor license. There is a private 2 bedroom home on the property and several lots. This is considered beachfront property, the only thing in front are the camping palapas in the Federal zone which is a camping facility run by the city.
