In 1963, David Hernandez opened one of the original hotels in Puerto Vallarta. The Hotel Posada Rio Cuale. Posada Rio Cuale had 20 rooms, and excelled at offering family-style
hospitality along with unique culinary creations in the restaurant “Le Gourmet”. David’s son,
Jose Luis Hernandez, instead of selling the property, he kept the family legacy, and built
the 24 condos as are seen today. Jose commissioned Afredo Pardo Labastida, a 25 year
local resident and architect to design a smaller building with Mexican colonial touches
